Kristine - I struck out on the Muk name, Dolerstine, and Schewe/Scheie. But there are a bunch of Schwartzs. Rather than type out all the entries, here are the basics on each Schwartz that's in the book. Let me know if any look promising, and I'll type out the whole entry for you.

Pg 54+ - There's a multigeneration family tree of a Schwartz family from Riga. They seem to mostly be in Riga and St. Petersburg and Moscow and Narwa, though one person, an Alexander born 1891 ends up in Odessa as a lawyer or judge. If you're interested in this family, I'll copy the pages and send to you.

Pg 121 - Johann David Schwartz, in Pernau in 1768

Pg 142 - Christine Wilhelmine Schwartz, married to Johann Friedrich Julius Boldt, in Riga about 1851-1874

Pg 195 - Anete Schwartz, married to Wilhelm Meyenn about 1816 in Riga

Pg 215 - Heinrich Lorenz Schwartz, in Riga about 1834, unmarried

Pg 254 - Karoline Schwartz, married to Johann Friedrich Beckmann, immigrated to Livland about 1861

Pg 325 - Karl Schwartz, immigrated from Neetzka to Koenigshuld in 1804

Pg 337 - Hans Schwarz, worked in Lemberg in 1537

Pg 343 - Wilhelm Schwartz, requested permission to go to Moscow in 1683

Pg 381 - Maria Schwartz, married to Christoph Kandler, had a son in Woldegk in 1786

Pg 441 - Michael Schwartz, from Torgelow, died in 1915

By accident (via google), I came across your communication i.a. on the Schwartz family from Perleberg/Mecklenburg, later Narva, Riga, St. Petersburg, Odessa etc. As this is "my" family Schwartz and since I am very much into family research, I would be more than curious to hear more about your interest, knowledge, connection with the Schwartz family.

In one of your postings the name Buchholtz is mentioned. Actually, Arend Buchholtz, a famous historian from Riga, compiled an extensive Schwartz family history published in 1921. hi folks this is for Carolyn and Kristine - I just read the entry above regarding info on several names - Muk, Dolerstine and Schewe......well I think one needs to look at them more closely and probably realise they may be Mauk, Doberstein and Schiewe. What say you??? regards, Ray.

I don't have any connection to the Schwartz family myself. But I do have a book about Germans in Mecklenburg that I was doing look ups for Kristine. The Schwartz family that you mention had a long write-up in the book, but it may be the same as the one you already have that was published in 1921. If you want me to scan and email the pages to you, I can.

As for the other names, your versions make a lot of sense. I know when I did the look up, I pretty much looked for anything that resembled Kristine's names in any way, so those must not have been there. But for general research, yes, I'm sure you're right that those are most likely the spellings.
