I'm looking for the birthdate and birthplace of a John Schott, married to a Myrtle Holm. They were probably married before 1928, since they had a child born that year. They probably lived in Fargo in 1928, but at some point moved to California.

I can't find the family in the 1930 census in either North Dakota or in California.

If anyone has any suggestions, let me know.

I have Schmalenberg family in Grand Forks and I used the Grand Forks public library to search City Directories going back to 1911 for my Schmalenbergs. According to the Fargo library catalog they have city directories going back to the 1880s. Perhaps askreference@cityoffargo.com could tell you if they have have a service to photocopy pages and send them to researchers?
