Does anyone have any info on either of these 2 towns

Neu Strasburg, Russia

and

Parkanskii, Russia

My great grandfather had 2 known children born in Neu Strasburg by his 1st wife, last child from his first marraige and all kids from his 2nd marraige are listed as being born in Parkanskii in the original russian records.

I found a map that shows Neu strasburg being a little NW of Odessa but for the life of me can find nothing online regarding Parkanskii.

In their Ellis island records they state their origin as just Strasburg, Russia.

Looking at our master Village list (http://www.blackseagr.org/pdfs/village_list.pdf) I see Neu Strassburg and Parkan. Both are in the Kutschurgan district. Could these be your villages?

I think Neu Strasburg is in your list.

Parkan could be Parkanskii, but what is it called today?

Closest to Parkan I can find on google maps is Parcani, Moldova which is about 30 miles west from strassburg, russia

Sorry, here is the relevant section from our list:

Neu Speyer Kherson/Odessa Beresan/Landau 1925 K
Neu Strassburg Kherson/Odessa Kutschurgan K
Neu Straub North Siberia Omsk

so no "Neu Strasburg" Your village appears to be spelled with two ss.

"Parcani" sounds like a good possibility for your Parkanskii. "Parcani" in that case would be in the Romanian language. See if you can find out what the translation is.
