According to Ulrich Mertens book, pg 256, Bulatschi (aka Bulachi/Neu Friedental?) was located in Crimea/Simferopol/Bijuk-Onlar (Byten). It was founded in 1879, ev. (Lutheran), belonging to parishes in Neusatz and Byten. Located about 50 miles north of Simferopol. Schools 1-4 in 1926. Population 111 in 1904; 97 in 1914; 84 in 1918; 494 in 1919; and 131 in 1926.

Of interest to researchers on this village is an article about Bulatschi, Crimea which is available in an old edition of the GRHS Heritage Review (No. 18 Sept 1977). The article is titled "German Farmers In The Crimea During The Period 1806-1941" and there is a second part published in HR #19, Dec 1977. Both are part of the GRHS Heritage Review CDROM available from GRHS.
