My great grandfather was Wladimir (or Waldemar) Mikhailovich Weintraube from Chotin (also spelled Khotyn/Khotin/Hotin), Bessarabia, Ukraine. He was born 1884 and had (presumably) 12 siblings. His father was Mikhail Weintraube (I do not have the exact name) and was presumably from Austria (or Austria-Hungary) His mother Katarina (born Mallinovskaya) was possibly from Poland (Not sure about exact name either)
I am looking for any kind of link to Weintraube in Chotin
There seems to be evidence that Weintraube (at least in some cases) have changed spelling, so I am looking for any kind of variant. Most important is the connection to Chotin around 1870-1910 - or possibly Austria (Hungary) a generation earlier (beginning/mid 1800).
I have found a Mikhail Veintraub, Chotin, on the Duma Voter List from 1906, but no evidence that it is the same person
