Post subject:  Dombrowski or Dombrowsky surname

My GR immigrant ancestor, Wendelin Bosch (1879 or 1880) had a mother named Elizabeth Dombrowsky(i). The wife of one of Wendelin's sons is still living in Bismarck. She says it was a common joke in their home that, while she was 100% GR, he was part Polish! I've tracked down one possible "cousin" with the same Dombrowski ancestress in the States. Other than that I've found no one else researching this surname as a GR connection. My Elisabeth Dombrowski ancestress married Vincenz or Vikenti Bosch (b. 1848 in Rosental, Krim, Russia, now the Crimea, Ukraine) and they were Catholic. They did not immigrate. According to family lore, they were last heard from in 1911.

Submitting your family tree to the database is another way to find others who are researching the same surnames. And since the database is open to the public, researchers from around the world are using it. I live in Canada, but have many Dombowsky relatives, as that was my mothers maiden name.
Her great grandfather was Franz Dombowsky, born about 1820 in West Prussia, married to unknown.
They had one son, Jacob, born in West Prussia, 1848, married Katrina Loschiysky, born 1855, Russia. They had 12 children, one of which was my Grand father Linus.Dombowsky, born 1888, December,at Rostov, Toganrog, Russia. Linus married, Helena Jaschinsky, also born Rostov in 1891, but they married and lived in Claybank Saskatchewan. I have a 37 page Dombowsky family tree, and would be happy to see if any names you are looking for are on it.
