I'm looking for information on any of my GR ancestors as to their emigration/immigration to and from Russia.

My research to date: my maternal family immigrated from the Grosswerder, Jekaterinoslaw Russia area in 1909 to new homestead’s at or near Luseland Saskatchewan, Canada. They are:
-my grandparents are Valentine and Marie Zering (nee Scheffner (Schefner), also Zehring and maybe Zerring
-my great grandparents are Stephen Zehring and Helena Zehring (nee Sperling)
-my great great grandparents are Valentin and Maria Sperling (nee Scheck)

The Zering's probably emigrated to Russia around 1830, possibly from Metz, Lothrengren (Alsace-Lorraine) near Baden Germany. The others may have also emigrated from this area.

Any help would be appreciated.

The best person to contact regarding families from Grosswerder is Morris Knorr. He can be reached by email at wendyjuneclark@yahoo.com.
